I guess. I have no ambition to meet him. I never think of him unless somebody brings him up.
He's well known to a miniscule group of people. So small a group as to be insignificant.
To me he's nothing more than a noisy smelly fart. Gets your attention when you are around but soon forgotten.

I agree -- I'm very skeptical of not only the statistics but also of much of the opinions/info over there. Not to mention, even if he did have more members there (which I don't believe--I've seen a lot of knowledgeable people here over the years even though not all of them post regularly--many post I'm sure as time permits), I'm a huge believer that quality is much more important than quantity...... And being knowledgeable about great speakers/sound reproduction is no exception--there are obviously a lot more people on this planet who know next to nothing about speakers/audio than there are people who are really knowledgeable in this field. There is a much greater quantity of people who don't know much about vintage Altecs than there are people who do--so quantity is obviously not by any means a guage of merit. I'll stack the collective knowledge of the members here and the accumulated posts/information here in the archives regarding vintage "turnkey" Altec systems and custom Altec builds/mods etc. against any forum in existence.
